Jacobs Air Water Systems™ degasifiers are used in both municipal and industrial applications. Degasifiers are used to strip objectionable gases (such as H2S) from raw/source water. This process is accomplished by introducing water over a randomly packed media bed with a counter-current forced draft air stream. The water travels through the media creating a thin film thereby lowering the pressure of the water and creating an ideal environment for the forced air to strip the undesirable gases. Utilizing the same process, CO2 may be removed resulting in stabilization of corrosive water pH, and oxidation of such elements as iron and manganese.
Jacobs Air Water Systems™ degasifiers handle varying flows with capacities ranging from 5 GPM (7200GPD) (27 m3 day) to 5000 GPM (7.2MGD) (27,254 m3 day) all while providing a very effective and inexpensive method of addressing the desired removal efficiency. Typically, the noxious air exiting the degasifier vessel is then directed into one of our various air scrubber units.
Additionally, Jacobs Air Water Systems™ offers all ancillary pumps, blowers, ductwork and dampers to complete the project.
